    Oktoberfest in Spring?

    Oktoberfest in Spring?

The rumours are true, there’s an alternative Oktoberfest if you don’t make it to Munich in September

It can be hard to plan your Euro trip to incorporate all the events and experiences on your bucket list, one of which is probably the famed Bavarian bier festival, Oktoberfest. If being in Munich in September just doesn’t fit with your plans, you can experience all the same delights at Springfest. Same place, different time – Springfest runs from late April to early May (and Stoke will be there, of course).

Springfest is Oktoberfest, just on a slightly smaller scale. The beer halls are the same, but the bier itself a little lighter. The crowds are a little lighter too, with Springfest “only” attracting crowds in the tens of thousands. This means the atmosphere without the anxiety-inducing crowds, less tourists and therefore a more authentic experience. Everyone still dons the dirndls and the lederhosen, partakes in prosting and pretzels and partying and everything else you associate with Oktoberfest (including our famous Oktoberfest packages). The weather is generally warmer (score), there’s a carousel that doubles as a bar and there’s even a flea market that sometimes accompanies the Springfest site.

If you think Springfest is a better fit for your itinerary than Oktoberfest in September, Stoke can set you up with the most affordable option for experiencing the best of the German Volksfest for those of you travelling on a budget. €60 per night will have you camping in pre-erected tents with mattresses and bedding provided, enjoying a hot dinner and breakfast made by our celebrity chefs, and give you exclusive access to the best party in Munich – Stoketoberfest at the Stoke campsite. The beer halls are an easy commute away, and an extra €10 will get you unlimited beer and sangria for the duration of your stay with Stoke. Don’t fret if you’re not around in September – come to Springfest with Stoke! It’s Oktoberfest, in spring. And maybe even better.
