It’s a Stoke ski trip, just… nicer!
If you’ve been to Andorra with us, you’ll know that we do fun, friendship and flying/sliding/rolling down the mountain. We get the good times going from minute one and pause only to pass out a couple of times throughout the weekend. And look, this Ski and Wine Week will be similar. We haven’t forgotten how to party. But we know that many of you want something different and something a little fancier, more indulgent, more befitting of a spot on the Feed, and we heard you.
A catered gastronomic skiing experience
Let’s paint you a picture. After a day skiing and boarding Europe’s highest skiable glacier, of partying in our boots at the world famous Pano Dar apres ski, you slide down the mountain to our private wooden lodge. There you get out of the ski gear, into something chic, and gather around the fireside sofas for an aperitivo of most likely champagne and mountain cheese. Meanwhile our chef is in the kitchen filling the lodge with the aromas of fondue, poulet roti, filet de bouef… every day, we’ll be eating French cuisine prepared by a chef who lives and listens to what we all feel like that day.
With daily wine experiences courtesy of ¿Wine Not?
And of course we’ll pair the food perfectly with wines from the valley and around France, with tasting games and conversations about French viticulture thanks to our goodtime wine-party partners in ¿Wine Not?. We’ll be doing blind tastings, comparing vintages, getting to the bottom if there are better budget alternatives to Champagne, learning all about French viticulture and the wine regions around the Alps.
And as the conversation flows our knowledge of French wine grows, and then we either retire to the fireplace for some drinks and charades, or we hit the village clubs to rage or night. Likely, we do both.
Our private chalet in Les Deux Alpes
We’ve booked a private wooden chalet with fireplace and balcony in the village of Les Deux Alpes just for us. The location is perfect, the place is exactly like you’d imagine it to be, and it’s where we eat our hearty hot breakfast every morning before riding and have our coffees, and that’s open for you to roll back to whenever you need a refresh, rest or reset throughout the day. The chalet sleeps 14 people, in a layout of four rooms, each with a double and bunk beds and private ensuite. If you roll with a group of four, we can knock 10% off the price.
Skiing and boarding Les Deux Alpes
This is one of the world’s great ski resorts, with skiable piste of over 200kms, a snow-guaranteed upper altitude of 3600m, 42 lifts and unbroken runs of more than 10kms possible. There is so much terrain here, at such a varied elevation, that we can be riding fresh pow at the top, and softer, fun spring conditions at the bottom. If you’ve skied or boarded Andorra with us double that, then triple it again, and you’re getting close to how vast and awesome this resort is.
We can organise your lift passes in advance for you at the following prices (regular rates in brackets). You can always just go day by day if you feel like living uncommitted with a range of half-day and even beginner slope only passes available.
- Half day: €53
- One day: €63
- Two days: €110 (€126)
- Three days: €165 (€189)
- Four days: €220 (€252)
- Five days: €250 (€288)
- Six days: €270 (€311)
And of course the all-important Les Deux Alpes après-ski and nightlife
Any Stoke ski trip revolves around the apres ski, and our Ski and Wine Week is no different. Fortunately for us, Les 2 Alpes is not only in a privileged position for snow, scenery and gastronomic delights, but it is also one of the best resorts for partying in Europe. We will start our apres parties at the world famous Pano Bar, located at 2600m, where dancing on tables in your ski boots is the order of the afternoon. Then once we roll down the slopes we can continue the pre-dinner apres party at the Umbrella Bar.
Later at night we’re looking at The Red Frog Irish pub, or Smithy’s Tavern, and when we’re really feeling it finishing the night at L’Avalanche Club in the wee hours of the morning.
Stoke Travel trips are for everyone, but due to the limited availability on this first ever one-of-a-kind exploration trip we’re taking applications, just to make sure you’re really going to love what we’re doing in Les Deux Alpes…
