Andorra from Barcelona 2017

Andorra

January - March 2017

The perfect mix of snow sports and shots. Ride with us from Barcelona to Andorra 2017

Includes return transport from Barcelona, accommodation in a 3* hotel, one dinner, two hearty breakfasts, ski pass, ski equipment, nights out on the town and great times with new friends!

We love Andorra!

Just up the road from our offices in Barcelona, this tax-free principality is great for skiing and snowboarding, partying and escaping to the mountains for a weekend.

Our trips depart Barcelona every Friday at 8pm from January 13 to March 10 (except our Big Snow Weekend on January 27 which when we leave Friday morning). After a 3 and a half hour drive, we find ourselves deep in the Pyrenees in time to dump our bags in the hotel and hit the bars for drinks and inappropriate dancing.

The next morning we drag our sorry asses out of bed and hit the slopes since the alpine air makes for the perfect hangover cure. After an exhausting day of shredding we head down and suit up for the night. Stoke Travel is buying dinner and maybe even a round of shots, before once again stomping our way to dance floor glory around Andorra’s many bars, chances are this one will be a late one.

We’re up bright and early again on the Sunday for one last day of shredding before heading back to Barcelona in the evening. We’re going to be tired, we’re going to be sore, we’re going to be hungover but by golly are we going to be happy!

The Mountains.
We slip and slide over the slopes of two resorts: Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalis.

  • Resort area: 442 ha Altitude: from 1940m to 2640m
  • 26 km of runs: 6 green, 6 blue, 11 red and 2 black
  • Levels: 20% for beginners, 30% for intermediates, 50% for advanced

  • An often overlooked Pyrenean treasure.

Squeezed in between Spain and France high in the Pyrenees, Andorra is usually omitted from most travelers’ itineraries. Well it shouldn’t be! It’s right next to Barcelona, so beautiful your eyes will weep snow flakes. Tax free snow flakes!

That’s right, Andorra is tax free, so drinking, smoking and pornography is cheaper here than in other European countries. Hooray!

Just make your way to Barcelona and we’ll do the rest – It’s that easy!

    Meeting Point

19:00 Meet on the street level of the Palau Reial Metro Station, 08034 Barcelona to leave for Andorra

    It’s a bird. No, it’s a plane dummy.

Wherever you are in the world you can fly to Barcelona. Ryanair and Easyjet, the budget favorites for your comfort shirking tight ass pals here at Stoke Travel, fly to Barcelona regularly. One thing to remember is that Girona Airport, which sometimes yields the cheapest option, is an hour by bus from downtown Barcelona.

    Good old fashioned rail travel.

A great option if you’re coming to Barcelona from elsewhere in Spain, or from France. Check out Renfe for trains from within Spain and sncf for those departing within France.

    Bus

Check Eurolines for international buses to Barcelona, or Vibasa for buses from within Spain.

  • What’s up snow bums?
Questions about the festival or life in general? Enter away in the Ask a Question Tab and we’ll answer them here…

    What should I bring?
A ski suit most importantly since you can’t hire them in Andorra, warm clothes to sleep in and something awesome to party in, a camera, condoms (better safe than sorry!), cash, gloves, sunscreen and sunglasses.

    What if I can’t snowboard/ski?
Have no fear snow bunnies! Andorra has a giant beginner area with easy slopes the whole way down. You can purchase lessons when you’re up the mountain or teach yourself some tricks off the magic carpet.

Is there experienced terrain as well?
Yep! The included lift pass allows you to access all the mountains under the Vallnord name. There are also buses to the other mountains and terrain you can check out when there.
